Had the pleasure of being track announcer at the old "DD" from 1962-72 and witnessed the whole transition from Bubble-top, to Factory Lightweight, to Super Stock, to A/FX, to Funny Car take place right before my eyes.  A truly magic time during which the musclecar was born and died.  And the legend of Conrad Kalitta was birthed

All that and more will be recalled as Bill and Pam Kopolka present their second annual event honoring Detroit Dragway.  It's rumored that several members of the Ramchargers will attend as well.  There might even be a "cackle' or two!  You never really know which one of the legendary factory guys is gonna show-up at one of these.  should be lotsa fun.

I'll be there to do a bit of announcing,  color commentary, public-invited benchracing and - if there's time -a "Drag Racing History - 101" impromptu seminar using cars from the pits as live examples.  We further use these meets as gathering places for regional clients to have their vehicles appraised.  You can make arangements for that via PM's here or through the website at: www.southwest-valuations.com

Hope some of you "Sunday Niagara" folks will attend!

Virginia Motorsports Park is a beautiful venue located about 1/2 hour South of Richmond, Virginia, in Petersburg.

Event is run by the Best Of Times car club and is all about preserving drag racing's past and presenting it to new generations.

They have asked me back for another round of color commentary, public-invited benchracing and - if there's time -another "Drag Racing History - 101" impromptu seminar using cars from the pits as live examples.  We further use these meets as gathering places for regional clients to have their vehicles appraised.  You can make arangements for that via PM's here or through the website at: www.southwest-valuations.com

Hope to see you there,
